Groups, conventions and team building

Bringing a team, a convention group, a school or a club? Groups of 9 or more rappel on back-to-back departures the same day, with extra guides added for bigger groups, and we plan the timing around your program. Two waterfalls and a rope to trust make a team day people talk about long after the conference.

  • Team building and company retreats
  • Conventions and incentive trips
  • Schools, clubs and youth groups (ages 10 and up)
  • Weddings, birthdays and family reunions

For planners: one contact, one invoice, one waiver link for the whole group, and a certificate of insurance on request.

How the tour works

  1. Check in and gear up. Your guides fit your harness, helmet and water shoes.
  2. Ground school. A short safety briefing, then one practice rappel on a small dry wall to learn the moves, with a guide coaching you.
  3. The first waterfall. A short jungle hike to a 30 ft waterfall, your first rappel through the water.
  4. The big one. Along the stream to a 60 ft waterfall, rappelled with a guide at the top and a backup from the pool below.
  5. Hike out. About half a mile round trip in all, on a muddy, rooty jungle trail.

Is waterfall rappelling safe?

The risk is in the details, so we control every one of them:

  • Two guides on every tour: one at the top, one at the bottom.
  • A backup belay from below on every descent, so a slip simply stops.
  • Redundant anchors, checked before every tour.
  • Releasable rigging that lets the guide lower you smoothly if you freeze.
  • Weather and stream checks before and during the tour. Light rain is fine; flash-flood risk is not, and we reschedule.
  • Guides trained in wilderness first aid and rope rescue.

Waterfall rappelling questions

Do I need any experience?

No. Most guests have never rappelled. Ground school and a practice rappel on a dry wall come first, and a guide coaches you on every descent.

Is it scary?

The first step over the edge is the hardest part. After that most people relax and start enjoying it. A guide coaches you from the top, with a backup from below.

How much does it cost?

$279 per person plus 4.712% Hawaii tax. Kama'aina pay $229 with a Hawaii ID, and a private tour for your group of up to 8 is $1,879. FareHarbor adds a 6% booking fee at checkout, so the rappel tour comes to about $310 per person in total. See tours and prices.

How tall are the waterfalls?

About 30 ft and 60 ft. You rappel both.

Can kids do it?

Yes, from age 10, with a parent or guardian signing the waiver.

Is there a weight limit?

Guests need to be between 70 and 250 lbs for the harness and rappel system to work safely.

What if it rains?

Rain is part of the jungle and usually fine. If there's any flash-flood risk we move your tour, no questions asked.

Can I bring my phone?

Yes, in a dry bag. Your guides take photos too.

Can we have the tour to ourselves?

Yes. The private tour gives your group the whole departure, up to 8 guests, for $1,879 plus tax.

How long is the tour?

About 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on group size, including check-in, ground school and the hike out. Smaller groups wait less at the top, so they finish sooner.

Is there a minimum group size?

Tours run with a minimum of 2 guests. Traveling solo? Message us and we'll try to pair you with another booking.

Can friends or family come just to watch?

Yes. Spectators hike in with the group, watch from below the falls and can swim if they like, for $95 per person plus tax. Every spectator signs the waiver, and each party needs at least one paying rappeller.

Do you take large groups or team building?

Yes. Conventions, company teams, schools and clubs rappel on back-to-back departures the same day. Request a group quote.
